Intervention Coaching - New Service

Joyce Divinyi, founder of The Human Connection introduces a new service - Intervention Coaching.


 

I am introducing a new service to schools in your area called Intervention Coaching.  This service allows your school to expand the scope of interventions and behavior management strategies by adding an experienced mental health clinician to your staff for a minimal hourly fee most school budgets can afford.

The coaching process is practical, time and energy saving, and most of all, facilitates success for both the teacher and the student.  It is available on an hourly basis and can be done via phone or e-mail after an initial meeting and assessment is completed.  The coaching sessions usually last one hour and may require up to 2-3 follow-up sessions.  The teacher leaves the session with concrete, do-it-tomorrow strategies designed to help both the teacher and the student reduce stress and become more successful.

Intervention Coaching includes one or more of the following services / benefits:

 

·     An informal assessment for emotional developmental deficits that seriously impact classroom behavior.

 

·    Development of a workable behavior management plan based on the child’s emotional, developmental age and/or on the child’s mental health diagnosis or limitations.

 

·    Identify interventions or discipline strategies that will escalate dysfunctional behavior and substitute therapeutic interventions that correct behavior or increase academic success.

 

·    Prevent unnecessary special education designations by providing workable interventions before full scale testing is required or completed.

 

·    Successfully decrease or eliminate explosive outbursts or melt downs in children with anger issues.

 

·    Provide on-line support to individual teachers dealing with emotionally disturbed children.

 

·    Get help when all else has failed and one student is dominating the full time attention of a teacher or administrator.
