The Human Connection goes International!

Joyce Divinyi, the author of Discipline That Works: 5 Simple Steps has announced that her best selling book is now available in multiple languages.  The book is now in its third printing, sold throughout the US, Canada, and South America, and has recently been published in Indonesia and Saudi-Arabia, and soon India and Mexico

Having sold over 15,000 copies in the United States and Canada, her message and teachings are as strong as ever, and handling difficult kids is a universal challenge.  The information in the book has been presented to, and enthusiastically received by, thousands of professionals since it is aimed at meeting their needs as well as those of the child.

Regardless of the area of the world in which people reside, the strategies detailed in the book have been found to be universally accepted and have stood the test of time. When all other approaches have failed, this book teaches the proven strategies needed to bring about positive change.  A measure of the book is that it provides a proven, comprehensive and creative approach that draws on common sense and self control for both parents and children.  The book teaches parents, teachers, and other professional’s practical ways to work with even the most non-responsive, discipline-resistant, hostile or otherwise difficult children and teens.

There is a Crucial Difference Between Discipline and Punishment.

Punishment provides a consequence but discipline teaches a skill.  “If it doesn't teach a skill, it is not discipline”  says Divinyi.  This simple power-packed approach explains how punishment can sometimes get in the way of effective discipline.  Even appropriate and necessary punishment for misbehavior does not necessarily teach a child how to handle his own emotions or deal with a similar situation differently next time.

Saudi-Arabia - Arabic

Indonesia - Bahasa

Discipline That Works is an easy read that presents new ideas to enhance already existing priorities.  It supports adult goals for helping young people achieve emotional health and self-control.

Ms. Divinyi is a licensed professional counselor and a national certified counselor.  She has a private practice in individual and family therapy in Peachtree City, Georgia.  She has trained both parents and professionals working with children in a wide variety of settings from schools to juvenile courts throughout the United States.
